Leaky petrol tank

Filled up the purple gsx1100 tank with petrol. It has got a small crack at the botom of the tank.. strange spot for a crack like that. Needs to be soldered. But ... a day later a beautyful tank with fresh black paint apeared on ebay! Bought the tank. Will post a picture this weekend. Photo from the leaky spot below. It's where I removed the paint.

Grinding and checking for leaks

Removed all the lugs, shortened the frame at the back and sanded down the rough spots. Today I will be checking the ebay tank for leaks. More on that soon!

Mockup

Playing around with the gsx1100 gas tank. Suits him fine! Next up is removing all the lugs from the frame and also shortening the frame at the rear.

Front forks

Removed the front wheel and forks. The hexanuts at the botom connected to the inner damping units are stuck! Brute force isn't going to do the job so I can't remove the inner tubes at this moment.

Hardenberg

What a fantastic day! Sunny weather and a very busy parking lot at the spring edition of Hardenberg. This is still one of the best events of the year. No need for buying a ticket to the indoor section (except for buying coffee or a quick visit to the toilet...) The parking lot (again) was awesome! Sadly Klaas couldn't join me today. We get a second try at the fall edition!
